story boards

These images are my storyboards the bottom is the first one and the top one is the last one that i used. I don't like making storyboards as they are boring and I don't really use them as I prefer to think of a idea and just do it straight away and not bother doing preparation.

Evaluation

My final animation actually turned out very well I'm pleased with the final outcome even though it took several attempts to complete. I changed my idea to make it easier to create it should have been a puzzle sort of thing but I changed it to what it is now, it reminds me of a flicker billboard that you would see at a football game. The first thing I did when I thought of this idea was print 3 images of cars off and cut them into tiny squares to put it together like a puzzle, each image step by step frame by frame. The only flaw I came across doing this was that after I cut each image up into small squares it was almost impossible to fix back together without leaving gaps. after a while I re-thought my idea and decided to put the 3 car images behind each other and just cut them to a certain point so that I didn't have to put them back and it left no gaps. This worked out so I went on to take my images to produce my final animation. For this process I just folded down each image and then took a picture. After I took all my images I was ready to make my animation on after affects, this program took a while to get used to but I got through it easily enough. After my animation was complete and run through smoothly I added a colour overlay to my images to see how it looked for this I used a cmyk colour scheme this looked pretty cool and I was happy so I decided to keep it as my final outcome. It was very time consuming and had trouble getting audio on but overall it worked out to my advantage and I am very pleased that it is all completed and over with. It was a excellent project just very time consuming and not enough time to complete the final project but that's just my opinion because I had so many problems.

New idea

Once again I have changed my idea due to computer difficulties i.e crashing . my new idea is a flicker image like moving billboards, I have drawn over 3 cars on illustrator and cut then into small squares these will be the movement of my animation. I will create this effect by taking images of the cars squares moving and changing into the newer model. Then I will put the images on after affects and tweak certain areas.

Sticky notes

I've got this image because sticky nots are what I'm using to create my final animation it will be a timeline of cars which i will draw out by hand and use stop motion to put it all together. My plan is to hopefully to draw a old car moving across the sticky pad transforming into a new car e.g old front then a bit newer and each time getting more and more modern to eventually end up a brand new sports car .

Research

Wallace and gromit is probably the most famous stop motion ever it has been running for over 30 years and has inspired me to create my animation using stop motion . Wallace and gromit were made by Nick Park and bob baker. Bob only created the plots for the animation while Nick created the modals from clay. The production was made in Wigan in England. The running time for each episode was 30 mins films. The technique used for this was stop motion this means that after the models were created they would move them slowly while taking images of them this creates the illusion of movement .

Evolution of animation

Even though all these early examples may appear similar to a series of animation drawings, the lack of equipment to show the images in motion means that these image series are precursors to animation and cannot be called animation in the modern sense. They do, however, indicate the artists' intentions and interests in depicting motion. of artistic interest in depicting figures in motion can be seen as early as the still drawings of cave paintings, where animals are depicted with multiple sets of legs in superimposed positions, clearly attempting to convey the perception of motion. Other examples include a 5,200-year old earthen bowl found in an ancient Egyptian mural. The Persian bowl has five images painted along the sides, showing phases of a goat leaping up to nip at a tree. The mural, approximately 4000 years old, shows wrestlers in action.

Walk cycles

Most sane people have a fear of animating walk cycles. Many events are happening at the same time, and it can seem overwhelming. A single mistake on your first drawing can wreck the rest of the scene. However, the process can be broken down into a series of steps which can go some distance in simplifying the CONTACT, RECOIL, PASSING and HIGH-POINT

Story boards

A film storyboard is essentially a large comic of the film or some section of the film produced beforehand to help film directors, cinematographers and television commercial advertising clients visualize the scenes and find potential problems before they occur. Often storyboards include arrows or instructions that indicate movement.

In creating a motion picture with any degree of fidelity to a script, a storyboard provides a visual layout of events as they are to be seen through the camera lens. And in the case of interactive media, it is the layout and sequence in which the user or viewer sees the content or information. In the story-boarding process, most technical details involved in crafting a film or interactive media project can be efficiently described either in picture, or in additional text.

Pixar

pixars relationship with disney .

Since the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by Disney in 1937, animated films have become one of the most universally enjoyed forms of entertainment. Disney has a long history of developing, producing, and distributing films such asBeauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King. The stories and characters of these popular animated feature films have become part of our modern mythology, enjoyed generation after generation. Traditionally, these popular animated feature films have been created using the time-consuming and labor-intensive process of two-dimensional, hand-drawn cel animation.

In May 1991, Pixar entered into the Feature Film Agreement with Walt Disney Pictures for the development and production of up to three computer animated feature films to be marketed and distributed by Disney. It was pursuant to the Feature Film Agreement that
Toy Story was developed, produced, and distributed. In February 1997, Pixar entered into the Co-Production Agreement (which superseded the Feature Film Agreement) with Disney pursuant to which Pixar, on an exclusive basis, agreed to produce five original computer-animated feature-length theatrical motion pictures for distribution by Disney. The five original Pictures under the Co-Production Agreement were A Bug's Life,Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo,The Incredibles, and Cars. Toy Story 2, the theatrical sequel toToy Story, was released in November 1999, and is also governed by the Co-Production Agreement. We are currently in various stages of production on our next feature, Ratatouille, which was subsequently added to the terms of the Co-Production Agreement, subject to certain exceptions, in January 2006.

On January 24, 2006, Pixar entered into an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to merge the two companies. The deal was approved by shareholders of both companies and the merger became effective on May 5, 2006. Pixar is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company
